new york radio sucks

the radio down here is pretty much the worst anywhere. until a few months ago, we didnt even have an alternative channel. now we have a really shitty one, but its... well really shitty.

they feel the need to play these 3 songs all the time:

marcy playground - sex and candy
everlast - what its like
eve 6 - inside out? or whatever that was called

i have faith that in the next ten years or so radio is going to get REALLY good again. deregulation made all the stations swallowed up by a handful of giant corporations that run these stations with no local consideration and worrying about nothing but bottom line profits. i understand it's a business but in doing so they've sacrificed the air product and ended up losing money. eventually that whole system will go under, and when the big corporations get out of the radio industry the stations won't disappear, they will just fall into the hands of local ownership, and hopefully these people will have the balls to spend money on programming and make people feel like when they aren't listening to their favorite radio show, they're really missing out on something special.
