thought maybe i'd already started a thread or mentioned this record last month, but not finding it.
came back to this record after a month or so of not really listening to it that much and damn it's kicking my ass even more than it did before

no physical release yet unfortunately, just iTunes. hoping they tour soon

I still haven't listened to this. I've had it on my computer for a while now, too.

perfect description. and yeah great album. love wind pheonix, what dogs see, and the hazy sea, among others.

i only like sonic youth of that list, but i like their name.

Can't see it really being something I'm gonna latch onto, but this is definitely an impressive record.

i'm liking this a lot pretty instantly, more interesting songwriters than pavement for sure

i'd take the first track on this cd over anything i've heard from pavement. sorry if that disappoints you.
and yes i have all of pavements "best/classic/amazing/life changing" albums

I'm really no Pavement fanatic, but to suggest that anything from this record is better than "Gold Soundz" or "Range Life" or "Rattled by the Rush"... I dunno. Does not compute.

"Summer Babe (Winter Version)" was all I needed to hear. I don't understand that.

This is one of the great things about music. It gets you later. I love when that happens. I think it's ear training. : )

but if you have all those "life changing albums" (emphasis in original post mine), should you have already heard those songs?

okay i got all but rattled by the rush, none of those songs compared to "and the hazy sea" most pavement songs i hear drag a lot musically, i feel i spend more time waiting for something to change than anything else. they got a decent vibe, but really don't change much throughout songs or song to song on an album, and its very flatlined.

"Fillmore Jive" totes changes. Listen to that. It gives me goosebumps every time. But really, I fail to see how you can't love the pop bliss of "Gold Soundz"

okay i'm listening, but when you call "gold soundz" pop bliss i get the same feeling i get when people talk to me about pavement being good. i feel like we are listening to completely different bands, cause i heard no pop bliss.

okay listened to fillmore jive, it was a decent song. i just don't think i'll ever get the whole pavement thing, but either way, they should listen to the first track on this album, they could learn a lot.
