make sure not to eat food before; you'll start dry-heaving

I've been in a dress onstage before. I have seen the pit of darkness. This is also a response to the dignity comment.

I am funnier than at least half the people in most specials I see, so I sort of want to just do it.

there are a few people who constantly tell me i should do stand up. though to be fair, i think they are all a little biased.

one of them is this girl i work with, and she laughs like a hyena at everything. shes great, shes funny herself, but the girl laughs at EVERY THING. yes, 2 words.

another who tells me this is a good friend of mine, but his sense of humor just makes it so he 'gets' what i say. we like a lot of the same shows/types of humor/etc... so he is sort of designed to be someone who receives me well. i dont think i could stand in front of a bunch of strangers and deliver anything super exciting to them.

I'm sure you're pretty funny, especially in social situations. I hear a lot of people say they are funnier than the standups on television, but in reality why they're funny wouldn't translate.

Well to be fair I've actually performed on stage quite a bit and gotten paid to MC stuff, so I have a little more experience than the average person. It's just that when I think about what your regular rube laughs at these days, I think I could do that. Try it, at least.

i actually laughed at the use of the word "rube", nate, if that means anything. The same laugh i give when Jerry, George or Kramer surprise you with obscure or out of date words on Seinfeld.
