Getting rid of the puck was the right play. The bad play was dumping it halfway between the corner and behind his net. If he had put it in the corner, the game would have been over.

I agree, but sometimes I think just taking the face-off is better than the risk of dumping it. I've seen too many college goalies make the same mistake.
John Buccigross is an awful play by play man. He's always like two seconds behind the play. And I don't think I've ever heard a play by play guy say, "Wow! He just took that off the grill."
