ive been interested in trying some, but like most other alcoholic beverages, there all kinds of different flavors and types. anyone have any preferences? plus, aside from a japanese restaurant, i wouldn't know where to get any. supposedly, you can buy it at japanese grocery stores, but i don't know that there are any near here

Where do you live again? near or in pittsburg? Surely a city the size of pittsburg has a chinatown type neighborhood? you can probably find sake there. Other than that, you can always get it at a sushi bar. Just order it once and ask the waiter where the restaurant buys it.

Just go buy one sort and if you don't like it move to the next one? It's hard to believe you actually want people to describe its taste... just go and try it. It's awesome. It's alcohol. It has it all.

Like a strong semi-sweet wine, but hot.

I wouldn't say it's sweet. It has a definite bitter kick to it. I pour it in the tiny glass they give me and shoot it, but I come from a small town where people looked at you funny for eating sushi with chopsticks. I could have been doing it completely wrong. I have yet to have Sake here in Houston with less provincial people, so I don't really know.

"bombs" are all done the same way. You drop whatever shot into whatever beer (or red bull for jager bombs), and chug away!
