They are correct, it was a 3 way tie for first. Oklahoma was properly granted the right to represent the Big 12 South according to the rules but they all share the Big 12 south title.
They only need tie breakers to find representation for the league title. Texas Tech, Texas and Oklahoma all won a share of the Big 12 south last season.

According to the article, they have separate lists. They posted the Big 12 south title, which they won a share of in the three-way tie, but also posted that they won the Big 12 title, which is completely ridiculous.

hell yes i'm bitter about it. always will be. it was a straight up smooth buttfucking and anyone with anything resembling logical thought processes just can't disagree. you just can't.

I wholeheartedly agree that something like the BCS standings, which is a subjective measure, should not be the second tiebreaker. Someone was going to be buttfucked because of the three-way tie/circle of death. Even with all three teams being 1-1, there ought to be SOME kind of legitimate statistical measure that can break a tie before defaulting to what amounts to nothing more than opinion.
That doesn't mean I can't make fun of the butthurt, though.

On another note, why the fuck can't anyone get the spelling of "Big 12" correct?
From the conference website:
Quote:
When referring to the Big 12 Conference, please remember the conference name (which is a registered trademark) should be listed as follows: Big 12 Conference
The following should NOT be used in text when referencing the Big 12: Big XII Big Twelve
This is not a problem unique to UT. A&M's list of championships in Kyle Field spelled it wrong, for example. Not sure if they fixed it when they redid the signage and moved the list to the exterior.
