Did anyone happen to purchase the 'Alive' single on Rhapsody when it was a available a month or so ago? It has a totally different solo / ending than any other version that's been available before, but now it is gone.

here's where it was:
http://www.rhapsody.com/pearl-jam/jerem ... remastered

ALSO, the version on Rhapsody (Re-Issue) now is also a different version than the one I am talking about and the ones that are on the remastered & remixed versions!!

anyway, if someone does have the first version i am asking about i would love to get a copy of it since it's not available to purchase anymore.

thanks in advance.

SeaTut I did hear it. I listened to the Rhapsody and was like wow this is a really different solo from Mike. I did not buy it though. I was thinking about checking PJs MySpace that it might be there. have not yet though.

there is a version of alive floating around with a different outro (closer actually to how mike plays it in concert--much easier to do the yeah fist pump to than the Ten version). I don't know if that was your version though.

could it be from the original Alive single? that has a different Mike part than the album version. the version from the single builds to a greater cresendo.

It could also be the MommaSon version, but the description sounds more like the "Alive" promo single (yellow cover).

nope, it's neither of those...it was a TOTALLY different take, the last 2 minutes or so of the song was a different solo....from what i was told, the people putting together the remastered version of 'ten' accidentally used an alternate version of 'alive' with a different mike solo and they had to repress copies of the album....so i'm guessing this was the version that was orginally sent to rhapsody & then forgotten about until the album was re-released....but the strangest thing is that the version of 'alive' that is listed under (re-issue) is also ANOTHER different version as well!!

edit: so after a few listens w/ headphones on, i think the (re-issue) version on rhapsody IS the same version from Feb. that i was talking about & looking for. i listened to the 'alive' promo single & it's not the same version i was talking about...make sense?? :)

That Rhapsody version of Alive sounds as if it is simply one of the different Mike tracks that were pieced together to get the final Ten version of the solo we are all familiar with. Some of the same licks in the exact same places.
