This band was so original and different. Brad Roberts had one of the most unique voices I have ever heard. I suspect that this may be an acquired taste. I have loved some of these songs since the early '90s. I hope you enjoy them too!

Superman's Song

God Shuffled His Feet

MMM MMM MMM MMM

Afternoons & Coffeespoons

In the Days of the Caveman

Swimming In Your Ocean

I like these guys, I just thought this was a weird thread to be started in 2009.

i always thought they were riding on the coattails of EV's voice back in the day...now i acknowledge that they were more original than that, although i don't quite get them apart from their known tunes. what is their best album to get into them PHATJ?

Oops, I got confused. It's actually Days of the Caveman that I love. My dad had this CD and I loved this song back in the day. Isn't God Shuffled His Feet the name of the album? Anyway, yeah, pretty cool.

I do think that God Shuffled His Feet is their best album. The title track, Swimming in your Ocean, In the Days of the Caveman, MMM MMM MMM MMM, Afternoons and Coffeespoons, and my personal favorite CTD song, The Psychic, are all on that record.

Another great album is "Give Yourself a Hand". Completely different then anything else CTD have done, but still great.

Start with God Shuffled His Feet.

Wow. Wow.

I remember listening to these guys when I was in middle school. The only album I think I ever listened to was God Shuffled His Feet, but it's was a goodie.

Total stroll down memory lane. Off to download.

Oh man, my wife gets incredibly annoyed when I sing Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm. I think I'll sing it all night tonight.

Weird Al's version of MMM has aged better than I would have predicted.

God Shuffled... is a great record. Every song is topnotch. How Does a Duck Know and The Psychic being two of my favorite. Ironically, I was just talking to my girlfriend about CTD this weekend after hearing Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm on the radio in CT. (They have a great 90s rock station there in Hartford).

A few years ago I downloaded some newer CTD from eMusic and couldn't really get into it. I'd give them another chance. Any suggestions on their newer tunes.

BTW: Their "Superman" tune is better than all of the Superman songs out there.
