Should have realized In My Tree would have recieved love, the site's named after it.
I love the way the Pearl Jam drummers have panned out. What Jack did on Yield and No Code could not have been replicated by either Matt, nor Dave. His drums fit the music so well (In My Tree, Who You Are, MFC, Given To Fly, Faithfull, In Hiding) It's just musically perfect! (Pearl Jam in their prime if you ask me )

I love In My Tree but I'm still bothered I have absolutely no idea what they say during the "heyyy-eeeeee" part.
Yes!
We need to get a group of workers on this task.
think-tank!
seriously though, at this point, i think jack irons is probably my fave pj drummer, and matt the worse. i'm not saying matt is a bad drummer, just that his drumming work with pj is. i love jack's drumming on in my tree and gtf
p.s. this thread probbaly belongs in general pj chat no?

Always wondered about this..it's a top 5 song for me, but what the devil is he saying at this part? (Eddie's down in his home) (Oh, the blue sky it's his home) (Eddie's blue sky home) (Oh, the blue sky it's his home)
I reckon it's that backmasking thing, like they did on Pry, to..it sounds like it's in reverse..anyone know for sure?

I don't know what he's singing, but I'm 100% certain it's nothing about "eddie's blue sky home".

More of No Code in general in 2009! I'd love to get Who You Are and In My Tree at the same concert. Hopefully some of the Lost Dogs from No Code will get some play too (All Night, & Black Red Yellow).

Platypus, I'm almost certain it's that backtracking or whatever its called..there's definitely that sliding reverse noise on there at that part at that vocal..I don't buy the official lyrics either..And live he's definitely singing something.

Ok, so let's figure this out...
Based on live recordings, I think Eddie's part starts with 'Edddiiiiieee(s), newspapers...' (sounds like newspapers on 2000 versions, but before it's hard to tell) and maybe ends with 'on the ground' And the jeff/stone backing parts seem to end with '...tree falls'
I think the studio version has an overdub which hides the part Eddie sings live. The overdub comes in after the 'eddiiieeeie' and is at the front of the mix, it seems to be the 'fooooound a new home' the first time and 'blue sky home' the second time. The part that jeff and stone sing live is so hard to decipher though.

I'm with dime on this. I think it's played backwards.

There's about 3 different parts being sung, I don't think they're all reversed. If anyone has software that let's them listen to stuff backwards, they should get to work on this though =)

in my tree was once my favourite but the new version is cunt. seriously. how did they think that would be a good idea?
I agree. It's still a solid rock song but it's not nearly as good as the old In My Tree. Honestly, I think that the new In My Tree is easier to play and so that's why they did it.

Maybe they aren't saying anything during that part on In My Tree. Just making vocal noises. I'm listening to it through headphones right now and I sure as hell can't make it out. lol
