My name is James Conrad and I am an aspiring music critic.

I wrote a review of Shame, the debut album by Brad, a side project founded by Stone Gossard in the early 1990s.

Click or copy and paste the link below to check out my review:

Enjoy and keep on rockin! :)

Personally I prefer Brad's Interiors and Satchel's The Family (no Gossard on the last one though).

I like the unpolishedness of Shame and the polishedness of Interiors...but I prefer Interiors overall, although I don't think it aged well for me.

Whatever happened to that "new" album that was coming out 3 years ago? Fuck, Bradcorporation.com isn't even working?

And what about Stone's new album?

Stone better be playing the shit out of this new album to justify the undelivered promises of Stone-related music.

I believe Stone said he was going to use 10C to coordinate the manufacturing and distribution of his new album.

Given that Stone probably outranks the 10C, I'm thinking we've discovered the person to blame for irregular communication and distribution practices.

Have you checked with Ed regarding the accuracy of this statement.

Welcome to Discovery Park was their third album released in 2002. Their newest album was supposed to be called "Best Friends".

I didn't say he outranked Ed. Just 10C.

Don't waste your money on "Welcome to Discovery Park", it is horrible.

Shame and Interiors are both very solid albums.

There's a couple of good songs on Discovery Park.

The Family is the best Shawn Smith record.

I'm thinking in Ed's view that 10C trumps Stone, in a what have you done for me lately kind of way. Ed probably thinks "At least 10C hawks lighters for me, Stone doesn't do much beside stand around and give us some gay street cred. Selling lighters pays for those $11 eggs.".

Perhaps I should post my review of the Brad show I saw back in 1997:

The venue was the 9:30 club in Washington D.C.. The date was July 19, 1997. There were very few people in the audience.

I have no memory of what they played, but seem to recall perhaps Sweet Al George was on the set list.

I do remember that it was Stone Gossard's birthday and he told the audience he was turning 31. I also distinctly remember that he was drinking Heinekens during the show. The show did not wow me by any means, but it was worth leaving the house to attend.

End of Review.
