Has anyone else checked this game out? It's awesome! It's very different from the old Resident Evil games but still has the things you enjoyed from the previous titles. I really enjoyed the remakes they did for Gamecube, they had awesome graphics and I always liked the series but this one takes the cake. This game has been the only good thing about being sick and staying home alone the past two days. I'm hoping to finish it up before I have to go back to work.

I enjoyed the first 2 resident evils for PS2. I always found the actual gameplay a little awkward, though. Is it still like that?
And I would never have finished either of them without the strategy guides.
No the gameplay is a little different this time. It's still in the third person, but it's a little closer to a first person perspective than the others were. The aiming and movements are a lot more intuitive than previously though. Also, there is more emphasis on gunning things down rather than running and ammo conservation. It's really addictive.

Yeah the game is a blast, I need to pick it up again now that I have kicked my World of Warcraft habit. It is the first game I can recall really scaring me since the old Doom games. It is actually quite stressful and pretty difficult to, but blasting zombies heads off never gets old. Don't get me wrong, it isn't Ninja Gaiden for XBOX hard, but you will do quite a bit of saving and reloading. I never really enjoyed the clunky controls of the old Resident Evil games, but this has a completly different feel and is very intuitive.

My birthday is about a month from now (April 11th), so I'm hoping to get it as a present. The only problem is that it's likely to get in the way of other games I'm on a hiatus from at the moment - Silent Hill 3, Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime, along with others. But if it's half as good as I expect it to be, it bloody well deserves it.

It's a great game. I beat it a couple weeks ago and now I'm working on another awesome title from Capcom, Devil May Cry 3. RE4 plays a lot different from the older games, and it worked out great. I'd say it's the best one in the series by quite a bit.
