I always wanted to go to this venue, ever since PJ 1993 three night stand. I heard the sound is shit, though? True or false? I love Rotterdam. I love how it's all shiney and new compared to most of Europe. And all those mad sculptures on the canals. There was only one youth hostel there when we went in 2001-I'm guessing there's more now. I'm looking forward to returning.

It's big, but at least it's not a stadium . It's old, but they have been renewing it the past few years. It's where I first saw Pearl Jam back in 1993, both days. The rings are seated and the floor is standing. There are two rings now and there will be 3 in the near future. In the back of the floor you can also sit, but that's pretty far away. At the front you have a perfect view and sound, and it's still pretty close. Close enough for eye contact with the band, and they can of course step down and touch us . It's not in the city center but there are all kinds of public transportation and lots of parking places (paid). It's accross the street from a big shopping center and next to a park. You won't be bored waiting if you're of the early line-up kind. I've studied in Rotterdam and worked there for years, so I almost feel like a Rotterdammer, even though I live two cities more to the west (10 minutes by car or train).
groetjes, Mirella

I just got "AN" row tickets. Anyone know if these seats have obstructed views? I know it's a possiblity, since it's behind the stage. But can anyone confirm coz this is killing me...
I needed to get the tickets, being it my first PJ concert. I just want to know what to expect. I mean, if it's obstructed, I'm ok with that, but I'd want to know that, before even going to the actual concert.
Thanks for the help guys. Hope to meet some of you there.

They added 'possibly blocked view' because some of the seats in those areas may not see the whole stage. But most will be good, only it's behind the stage. So you will be able to see the thousands of happy faces all around It's closer to the stage than the back and the top of the rings, so it's not even so bad, I'd think. But maybe you can still 'upgrade' to better tickets before August.
