The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion is the fourth studio album to be released by the American band dredg. Bassist Drew Roulette describes the album as "an outcast stranded on an island, with hopes clearing the delusions that mankind has built. It is a rock and roll record, filled with experimental journeys and eccentric jousts." The album is inspired by a Salman Rushdie essay, entitled A Letter to the Six Billionth Citizen.

Teaser review:
Soooo……Dredg is officially back! After 2005's lackluster and semi-nauseating Catch Without Arms, I had all but written the band off. However, over the past 4 years I had heard plenty of rumors that they were experimenting again and were trying to get back to the Leitmotif/El Cielo sound. I had my doubts, but considering this band was in my top 5 for years, I remained hopeful for a resurgence.
Two weeks ago the album art, track list, and tour dates for the new disc, The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion (due out June 9th through Independent Label Group) hit the web and as you would figure, the kiddies went ape over the news. I will admit, the art-work itself got me pretty excited. Fast-forward a few weeks and lo and behold, the album arrived in my box today, in what has been the most unexpected early surprise of the year. I'll just end the suspense now, the album is terrific. Just a few listens through is not enough to tell you where the album will land in the long run, but it's plenty enough to make me love it. There are trace elements of everything they've done before, littered about the entire 60 minutes of the album. Consider this a teaser until I have some music to post, but rest assured, excitement is warranted.
