on the influence of drugs on music and culture, and I used the Beatles as my example, stating the obvious that recreational drugs heavily influenced their music. I proceeded to say that one cannot promote the music of a band like the Beatles without at the very least paying respect to the drugs that influenced their music. My metaphor for music and its relation to drugs followed; You cannot complement the complexion or design of a flower without also yielding recognition to the soil or water that is responsible for it's existence. any thoughts or feedback to the quote would be nice, i think it's a winner.

I asked because my thought was that you'd need to do a lot of work to support that specific thesis as it states that drugs were responsible for the music and I can't agree. Not that I have anything against pot and acid but I don't think you can support the thesis that drugs are responsible for musical creativity. Influence, guide, inform, yes. Responsible no.
BUT you might support it in 4 pages if you argued it well enough, which was the point of the paper. Right?

yes that was the point of the paper. and i did sufficiently argue the point. but imo there are a lot of songs that wouldnt have been written throughout the course of time if it wasnt for drugs, and as far as my own creativity... im far more creative the day after a mushroom trip
