I need more shows to record. I mainly only watch The Office, Simpsons, Tony Bourdain and Alton Brown.

This was one of the first things I did when I got a DVR, and really should do it more often.

Go to TCM, and browse ahead for the next week. They have some great old movies on, with no edits or commercials, but they're often on at times that you'll never be watching. It's the best in February when every movie they show was nominated for at least one Oscar.

Basically, there are a lot of good shows on in the middle of the night or when you're at work. I used to record Robot Chicken and Harvey Birdman from Cartoon Network.

I record shows like The Daily Show or Rachel Maddow everyday and save it for only one day, so if I choose to watch that day, I watch it when it's convenient for me, and I can skip through the boring stuff.

Anyway, that's how I use DVR. It's not that I watch many more shows, I just watch what I want to WHEN and HOW I want to.

I keep saying I'm going to run up to Comcast and switch my box for a DVR, but I've been really lazy about it. You're seriously convincing me. LOL.

Brad's comes in seriously handy on Thursdays because he's a huge Supernatural fan, but I've also gotten him hooked on The Office - and they're both on a 9. We usually watch The Office, and then start Supernatural from the begining, which usually means we get to watch Supernatural commercial free.

Sweet deal.

That's a good plan. I did that with my Encore/IFC/Sundance channels as well.
