10C came through for me again on this one.
Pure speculation, but I'm extremely curious about Elvis Costello playing the Ryman on 6/16 and he doesn't have another show scheduled until 6/19. I know EC did a surprise opening set for Bob Dylan at the Ryman some time ago... Maybe he could make a quick appearance with Ed?

I was there...it was Poor Girl acoustic. Awesome version...it sounded perfect. The whole set was fantastic, I can't wait to go back tomorrow night.
And they didn't check anything...I took my phone in no problem but it was off and I didn't use it to take pictures at all. I was too excited, I didn't want to risk getting kicked out.

Betterman Nashville style was like a slower country tuned guitar version. It was really cool to hear something different like that. I hope someone managed to tape this.
Only bad thing was there were a few assholes in the crowd that screamed obnoxious things and some drunk idiots. But I guess that's been a problem at all the shows. People don't know how to act during an acoustic performance. The crowd for the most part behaved but there were about 4-5 idiots out of over 2 thousand.
*Also Tenclub came through for me with great seats - about 5th row near center. These were the best seats I've ever had at the Ryman and I've been to a lot of shows there.

What a show! How much of Believe You me did he play?
Just the first verse, then he said ahh fuck I can't remember the rest...and then went straight into Wishlist.
I don't know if he truly forgot the words or if it was a jab at the guy who yelled out "Believe you Me" earlier in the show and he replied that he's not taking any fucking requests. He spent all night writing the setlist out in Calligraphy and isn't changing it now. He then showed the people in the first couple of rows his setlist he had written in calligraphy.
I kind of felt bad (but not too much) for the guy who yelled Freebird. Then Eddie told them to throw that guy out, he's the typical guy who ruins it for everyone and that the joke got old before Freebird was even written. Imagine one of your favorite musicians yelling at you but hey - he deserved it.

Absolutely AMAZING show. As good as he was during the other solo shows I saw last year, he's on a whole other level now. He didn't miss a note. His vocals were perfect. And his guitar playing was superb. "Poor Girl" said it all. He f'n nailed it. And he brought down the house numerous times. It's to the point now that I'd rather see Ed solo than Neil or Springsteen or anyone else. He's that good. And his confidence level shows. He never came off as cocky or a rock star. But you could tell that he believed in his songs and that he knew he belonged on the stage of the Ryman -- which is pretty amazing, considering he didn't really start playing guitar in PJ until '93.
Anyone who doubts Ed can suck it. Hard. And anyone who doubts his voice can suck it harder. I don't know if I've ever heard him sound so strong and full. Huge dynamic range and his voice never broke or sounded off.
