Fort Pierce woman calls 911 three times when McNuggets run out

FORT PIERCE — Told McDonald’s was out of Chicken McNuggets after paying for a 10-piece meal, a local woman called 911.

Three times.

“This is an emergency, If I would have known they didn’t have McNuggets, I wouldn’t have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don’t want one,” Latreasa L. Goodman told police. “This is an emergency.”

The McNugget meltdown happened last week at a McDonald’s in the 600 block of North U.S. 1 and ended with Goodman, 27, getting a notice to appear in court on a misuse of 911 charge, according to a recently released police report.

Goodman told investigators she tried to get a refund for the 10-piece McNuggets, but the cashier told her all sales are final.

“I called 911 because I couldn’t get a refund, and I wanted my McNuggets,” Goodman told police.

The cashier told police she offered Goodman, of the 2400 block of South 25th Street, a larger portion of food for the same price to make up for it, but said Goodman got “irate,” the report states.

Goodman reportedly yelled, “I don’t want a McDouble and small fry,” the cashier told investigators.

Dispatchers for 911 told police Goodman called the emergency number three times and on each occasion was told an officer was en route.

“Goodman maintained the attitude ‘this is an emergency, my McNuggets are an emergency,’” the report states.

McNuggets, introduced to the McDonald’s national menu in 1983, are sold in more than 100 countries and often are dunked in barbecue or hot mustard sauce. Goodman’s 10-piece selection has 460 calories and 29 grams of fat.

On Tuesday, Goodman said she agreed to get a McDouble in lieu of the McNuggets as long as she also got the difference in price back. Goodman said the only menu items she cares for are McNuggets and McDoubles.

Goodman claimed a McDonald’s worker wouldn’t give her the difference in money back, so Goodman decided she wanted a full refund.

McDonald's statement:

"Satisfying each and every customer that visits our restaurants is very important to us.

Regarding this isolated incident, we apologize for the inconvenience caused.

In the event that we are unable to fill an order, a customer should be offered the choice of a full refund or alternative menu items. We regret that in this instance, that wasn't the case.

We want to correct our mistake. We will be sending the customer her refund, along with an Arch card for a complimentary meal on us.

We never want to disappoint a McNuggets fan or any McDonald's customer.

Customer satisfaction is our top priority."

em..i know..there's actually a cultural hangover from that..Irish people are the only people I know that cant leave the pub, say if they have somewhere else to go? they have to finish the drink..other nationalities will leave whatevers left and head off..also our Mammies make us eat everything on the plate..and stuff your bags full of food when we're going home..

On another level, I got into the Wire recently and while I'm aware the media representation of black people is all about the rap/gangtsa culture, surely they aren't all into that are they? you could be forgiven for thinking that they are..All the Black people we have here are all directly from Africa & still into their own culture but the younger ones are all about the stupid clothes & sideways hats with labels still on..

This actually goes back to the pre-refridgeration era. Fried Chicken is not only delicious, but keeps well compared to other foods and could be packed into a picnic lunch and carried for a day or two without going bad. Also, if I remember correctly slaves were not allowed to raise pigs or cows, but could raise chickens, so chicken became the preferred meat amongst slave populations, along with the lesser cuts of pork which they were given when all the rest of the meat had been butchered. Hence the continued fondness today for dishes like pig's feet, chitlins, etc. Basically, slaves (as well as poor white folks) became experts at making "lemonade out of lemons," so many of the most popular Southern dishes are shitty foods that you can make taste good with lots of time and seasoning.

That show is actually great because pretty much every "type" of person (whether black or white) is examined in depth. So you have the gangsters, the "old school", the LGBT blacks, the self-hating types, all of it. It's only a great show but also a damn good anthropological study.

In this case, the women is kind of right.
She paid money for a service that was promised, and they attemped to give her something else, but wouldnt give her the money back. it amounts to a very minor case of fraud- a crime... a 911 emergency? probably not, but still, if this is the one i heard, even the 911 call was made reasonably.

and yes, the Wire (and homicide) are both amazing shows.
