These guys are really taking over that game if you think about it. They have the full Ten album, probably Backspacer, and now the new live Pearl Jam rockband. This band always seems ahead of the curve when it comes to new ways to market and make money. Smart fuckers.

They definitely were not ahead of the curve with Rockband. There's other full albums, and I know of at least 3 other bands that already have stand-alone games (Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Metallica).
But, they'll probably do well with it. Especially that 40 song live disc.

Sure your right about not being the first to do full albums, I just meant them trying new things in general. I think they are the first to do a live concert for rock band, and completely unrelated to the video games, doing the bootlegs was a kick ass marketing move.

AC/DC's rockband game is a live concert. But I know what you're saying, and I agree. Their bootleg venture was awesome. And they seem to always be willing to try new ways to get their stuff out there, which is cool for the fans.
Now if they can figure out how to keep their album off the internets for 4 months, they'll be the smartest (or luckiest) band ever.

Im not sure if a lack of leak is good. I mean, the whole leaking thing creates a lot of "underground" hype and publicity.

I don't think it's good either. Just sayin, the band probably doesn't want it to, so I imagine they'll try and keep it under wraps. I'll be shocked if they're successful.

Oh wow I didn't know the AC/DC one was live. Good to know, but also glad you got where I was going with the post in general (i thought i worded it way off). They jsut seem to have their fingers on the pulse of what would be good for them and their fans but still keep themselves in their own little obscure world. Love them for that.

i think there's a good chance of it... i think Kelly Curtis even mentioned that they were exploring distribution methods through a video game... so i think it would most likely be Rock Band
