i've just recently encountered a really annoying problem with my POP account on mail. for years it's been fine, but now everytime i shut it down and open it agian, it asks me to setup the email account (as if its the first time i'm using it). so everytime i start up, it takes 5 minutes to check that the servers are correct, and then re-download all of the emails that are on the server... it doesnt seem to allow me to permanently save the settings...

it basically occurred right around the time that my girlfriend chose to "order prints" from iphoto which told me that i had to have a mac account to do so... ever since she did that, mail defaulted to a mac account (that i dont have). i removed that account from mail but it doesnt seem to want to save any other account..

has anyone encountered anything like this before?
