I know, it's far off, but I wanted to make a thread because i can't wait for this film. I read the novel by Dennis Lehane last summer and it was pretty entertaining stuff, very atmospheric in a gothic sort of way. Here is a site with a few photos...

Cast: Lenoardo Dicaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Emily Mortimer, Max Von Sydow, Jackie Earle Haley.

Plot: The year is 1954. U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo Dicaprio) and his new partner, Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), have come to Shutter Island, home of Ashcliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane, to investigate the disappearance of a patient. Multiple murderess Rachel Solando is loose somewhere on this remote and barren island, despite having been kept in a locked cell under constant surveillance. As a killer hurricane bears relentlessly down on them, a strange case takes on even darker, more sinister shades-with hints of radical experimentation, horrifying surguries, and lethal countermoves made in the cause of a covert shadow war. No on is going to escape Shutter Island unscathed, because nothing at Ashecliffe Hospital is what it seems. But then neither is Teddy Daniels.

So I already read Lehane's novel, but now I just finished reading the script to the movie.

i'm a big fan of Sir Ben's acting abilities - hopefully the film is as good as the script.

I've seen this trailer twice and I'm already sick of hearing "We aah duly appointed Federal Maashals!"

Feburary 19th.

A lot of rumors speculating as to why.

1.) Paramount claims they have no funding after a crappy blockbuster year for them.
2.) Moive ain't that good
3.) Scorsese wasn't wholly satisfied during post-production and did some tweaking.

I dont know, regardless I'm going to see it because the book was good.

I would think #3 is probably the most plausible.

this could go either way. I hope its good, the fact that it was going to come out then got delay makes me wonder tho.
