so as a Euro who only posts in proper sports threads can i get filled in on this? All I know is that there was a thread called 'Peeps is a homer'

basically it breaks down as such


pete hates sidney crosby for what ever reason, and no matter what sid does, it will never measure up to what pete thinks he should be. pete also blames sid for being the face of the league and never winning the stanley cup. pete has also claimed he said it would be the penguins and redwings in the stanley cup finals as far back as the middle of april. he also contends that crosby shouldnt even be labled as a top 3 talent in the league because he has 3 pts and is a minus 3 for the series. and he still thinks crosby is a whiner due to sids first two seasons. pete has also claimed that i wont meet up with him when he is here in school.


i contended that it was not sids choice to be the face of the league, but the league forced it upon him. i proved pete indeed did not say anything close to what he claims and therefore is just trying to save face. his team had the chance to beat the penguins in the first round and they choked like a whore on nickle night. next he was able to root for the caps, and when the pens beat the caps, he next had to root for the canes. now he is rooting for the wings cause his uncles sons friends mothers sisters aunt knows mike babcock who is the coach of the wings. this is also where pete has claimed to get his, spot on information, which was completely bogus, therefore making him look like even more a jackass. i agree that crosby whined way too much his first two seasons but he has learned thats not the way to go about getting calls. i have never not agreed to meet pete cause i was never asked, but truth be told, i have absolutely no desire what so ever to meet him.

i thank you. sounds a bit like what goes on in the EPL thread but in the end we just swear at each other and move on.

For the record, if it seems that I said Crosby is not a top 3 player in the world, that wasn't my intention. I definitely believe that he is such, however, I was just playing devil's advocate in those few posts. Just wanted to clear up, that even with my "homerism" and complete hatred of him, I am able to admit that he is one of the best players in the world, and as such, probably better than anyone the flyers have.

Aside from the bolded section, that's a pretty solid post.

The only thing that would make that better would be if Naslund pointed and laughed as he hopped over the boards.
