Anyone see it?? I saw it last week and thought it was really good. It captures the spirit and reality of Texas High School Football. It was really odd to watch it all on the big screen though, I mean 20,000 seat high school stadium, sold out Astrodome for High School football, police escort to the State Championship Game....all that stuff is real and actually normal here.
Does this seem outrageous to you guys not from Texas or is it pretty much the same everywhere???

great movie....best sports movie i think i ever saw. the only thing is the hollywoodization or whatever that they did to it....that game vs dallas carter wasn't the state finals...it was the semi-finals...just for example..

And it was played in Texas Stadium, not the Astrodome. But making it the state finals made it even MORE dramatic, which is what hollywood does, it WAS just a movie.
The book is great and the movie barely scratches the surface of what the book is really about.
