In my transitional years from late middle school, until about my junior year of high school, I was both an avid watcher and victim of Babylon 5. I was terrified of the Shadows and Vorlons. To this date, these "ancient ones" scare me a hell of a lot more than your average horror movie. I think just the great unknown of space just grips me so much more than a slasher. I know that man can be ruthless and evil, but it pains me to think that something that doesn't even know me really doesn't want me to exist.
Anyway, I can hardly even look at a picture or video of The Shadows and The Vorlons. They scare the hell out of me that much. I really don't know what else the show was doing and what message it was sending. There was this whole subplot of Earth dictatorship and I think even Walter Koenig was involved as some kind of psychic influencing all of the dictatorship shit.
I'm fucking scared as I write this. Maybe this show was revelatory in its own way.
Did anyone else enjoy this show or get excited about it?

Oh my god. YES. I was captivated. It was revelatory. Loosely based on Tolkien, it had much to say about us. I loved it. Before BSG, I saw it as the best SF show on TV ever.

So all 5 seasons are 80 bucks total on Amazon now. I just sold a bunch of TV DVD's today and got 61 bucks for them and i'm thinking about buying them all now while they are on sale.
Seems most people liked this? Just have to get passed the 90's special effects right?
