Saw this posted in the Ed Maui Tour thread (courtesy of Enimmi):

Synergy is confirming the new song as Speed of Sound. Whether or not that is true, who knows...

Well that, coupled with the fact the he's said it's like buying a christmas present months before time and you want to give it to people now, bodes well all round.

That is kind of cool that he is playing some of the songs beforehand. I suppose that goes along with them wanting to really generate some interest in this record, you know? (The Target commercial, etc).
Are people really complaining about it though? Would you rather know absolutely nothing about it until it hits?

No, this song is going around. You will hear it soon enough. As far as I know it's recorded with a mobile so the sound is so-so but I'm sure other recordings have been made as well.

Cool, so it's just the Vedder live performance? Looking forward to it. Would love to hear Drive All Night as well.

And seeing as the article mentions Ronnie Wood, wasn't Vedder meant to be working on his new solo album? I swore I heard something about that a while back.

It wouldn't be Eddie without him dropping some celebrity name..

it's an ok song, sounds like a piano but it could as easily be a guitar too..the recording is pretty bad.

Do you remember hearing the song on the album?
