Yeah I'll keep looking. Text from the misses: "One thing at a time babe...lol...one thing at a time." (Just bought a new tv and ps3 lol so I'm gonna let her win this time.)
On a side note I have a buddy at work who apparently gets to play Doral (the Blue Monster) for free, so when he found out that I'm starting to take up golf he's dying to take me there. I think it'll be awhile before I want to subject myself to that, but it is a cool goal to shoot for. So how is that 18th hole Doug, seeing as I know you've golfed there?

In my first round of 2009 I put up an impressive...let's say generous...102 or so. And that was only through 16.5 holes. After putting 3 balls out of bounds in a row on 17, well it was time to call it a day.
I shot a 62 on Friday. First time I've ever golfed. It was pretty fun. Frustrating, but fun. I got some clubs from my father-in-law's brother that I can use indefinitely, so that's cool.
Oh that 62 I shot was on a 9 hole course.

Thats really not so bad for the 1st time out. Much better than my 1st 9 I'm sure.

I've never had an official handicap, just joined a golf club 2 weeks ago though so will be submitting a few scorecards soon.
my lowest round is an 86 which was my first round this year, admittedly it was a piss easy municipal course but I'd never broken 90 there before.
I've just purchased a Wilson Staff TW9 56º Wedge, best purchase I've made (aside from my trust 3 wood), so much more control around the greens
I had a hole in one at Smithton Golf course 5 iron from 150 meters, i have photos i might put them up. There are 76 courses here in Tasmania besides the small couple of islands I have played them all, joys of having 12 weeks off a year
Best course Barnbougal played it 3 times had 2 over in a two man ambrose.

I play in a weekly league that plays 9 each week, but I am pretty terrible. I have one of the highest handicaps (15) but last week I got a 48 which is really nice once you factor in the HC.

I shot 118 in 18 holes on Friday.
Did 10 strokes better on the back nine, though. And I have noticed I'm getting to the green in fewer strokes, and at the end of the day I really just had one bad stroke that ruined every hole.

Gross.
I have to say jammer, I've put a lot of balls out of bounds in my day, but I've never once putted a ball out of bounds.
I can just see this...

I think the key to scoring well as a duffer (no offense, most of us are) is to not let one bad shot mess up the entire hole. I usually have a bad shot every hole or so, and so I try to think of it like, "OK, this par 4 just became a par 5." You can make a lot of headway psychologically by trying to turn the one bad shot into only one or at most two strokes.

Last 3 scores are 85, 85, 84. What are people's handicaps on this board? I'm at 12.6 right now.
If I could actually improve my putting, I think I'd get down to around 8. Any advice?
Walk your putting line. I know that doesn't sound like it makes much sense, but I can read the break of the green better with the feel in my feet than I can with my eyes.
Also don't worry about the line as much as the speed. Imagine a 3 foot circle around the hole and just aim for that.
My goal is a 2 putt every hole. 3 putts drive me crazy. If you can limit those, you'll be fine.
