The Beastie Boys revealed the title of their forthcoming album in an email message delivered to fans today (May 25).
"Our new record that is coming out that we finished the other day is called HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE," the group's note reads. The band will appear on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" tonight, and promise "to offer insights into how it was crafted" during an interview on the show.
The Beastie Boys have a busy summer ahead, with headlining slots scheduled at many of the large festivals in the U.S., including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, All Points West, Outside Lands, and Austin City Limits. As previously reported, rapper Santigold has recorded a guest spot for "Hot Sauce Committee."
Last October, Beastie Boys member Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz told Billboard that the group was "in the middle" of recording the then-untitled record, the group's first since 2007's instrumental album "The Mix-Up."
"It's a lot of vocals, a lot of words -- very wordy," he said. "And it's political, depending on what you call political. You know, if toilet talk and fart jokes are political, which they can be, in that sense yeah, very."

I think we're the only two Beastie Boys fans on the board.

I definitely like the Boys, but was a little underwhelmed with the last two releases though. The stretch from Paul's Boutique through Hello Nasty is damn near flawless however. I'm hoping this album at least rivals HN.

I think it's just bad timing. We're all excited for Backspacer and this is secondary. What is going to suck is that this, Backspacer, and the new AIC are all coming out within a week of each other. For me, that means one of those albums will never get its proper due. I'm guessing Alice.

I predict you'll get very familiar with the PJ album very quickly, and it won't be long in dropping out of regular rotation, so the other two may get their dues over time.

On the commentary track for the Beastie Boys’ Check Your Head reissue the trio hinted that Bob Dylan would guest in some capacity on their upcoming album The Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1. However, when details of the album were announced, only Nas and Santigold were listed as features on Pt. 1. So what happened to the Dylan collaboration? The Beasties tell Drowned in Sound that Dylan will appear on the upcoming Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2, but not in the conventional way. “We sampled his ass,” MCA tells DiS. The Boys previously borrowed a bit of Dylan’s “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues” for Head’s “Finger Lickin’ Good.” The Brooklyn trio says that Bob Dylan’s contribution will be a “spoken word” piece lifted from the singer’s Theme Time Radio Hour show. Dylan once praised the Beasties on an episode, and that recording of the compliment will appear in some capacity on Pt. 2. As for that Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2, the Beastie Boys tell DiS that the album is almost finished, but while Pt. 1 is being released through the traditional channels, Pt. 2 will being distributed in a less orthodox method more befitting of today’s technology. “MP3s could just rain from the sky,” Ad-Rock told DiS. Previously, the Beastie Boys surreptitiously sent fans who ordered their Check Your Head reissue an additional 7′’ vinyl featuring a sneak peak at Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1, so a similar method might be utilized for Pt. 2.

Yeah, I've checked 'em out...Kinda curious what the Nasty one will be like...The sound is already pretty good on it, so I don't know if it really needs the remastering touch. I wonder if the Country Mike stuff will be available as bonus tracks or something, I think that would be kinda cool and funny to hear. So far I've only gotten the Paul's Boutique reissue, but thinking of getting CYH on vinyl for one of by friend's b-day present.
