Maybe this really doesn't warrant it's own thread, but I don't care.

I'd LOVE to hear this live, as a lead in to another song. Maybe Corduroy.

Thoughts?

It'd be a strange intro music...they've never used it..

I miss Aye Davanita..the KING of all the weird Pj arty tunes..

Can't stand Arc. It's so self-indulgent. Master/Slave is amazing, and I think Ed was maybe trying to capture some of that? But failed.

I typically like their random (or some would say "filler") songs. StupidMop is one of my top 10 (sometimes top 5) songs. Aye Davanita is amazing too.

I'd love to hear Foldback or Thunderclap as intro music. Hummus seems too out of place to ever hear it live. It seems too silly. Aye Davanita's a good one. So is Master/Slave. And if you don't like Arc...

I don't like Arc either. Have no idea why so many people think it's like a holy grail.

Ever heard Ed do it live?

Pretty amazing. Makes you really realize how powerful and amazing his voice is.

Heard him do it live and it was kinda cool, technically. Although it translates weird in a 18,000 seat arena.
Still don't like listening to it. I appreciate the attempt, and applaud Eddie for going outside the box. Still find it self-indulgent and somewhat pretentious though. I'd just rather listen to some ambient music and let the pro's handle that stuff.

This is one of the things that I am most tired of. And it's by no means an offence to you, strat. But "you should hear it live". You know, in 99.9.% of the cases I prefer studio versions of songs over live performances. Also from my very favourite songs, also from the ones I saw live. So that's already part of my argument.
Second part. It's true that some things you can capture live and the experience is immense for you. But only 9x15.000 or something people have heard it. It would be kinda ridiculous to say to all other PJ fans out there "hey, too bad, but you never saw it live and so you will never understand what it can mean if you don't love the studio version". Bull shit.

(sorry, it just fits in my whole mood of being sick of live shows of any band. I don't "get" them anymore. I'll go and make an OB topic about this later)

haha, no i get what you are getting at. Im picking up what youre laying down. I didnt mean for it come off as "oh you dont know cause you havent heard it live"

I really had a huge appreciation for it when he opened up some 03 shows with it. in a live show you really can't hear the band, the show is more about the energy in the building and feeding off eachother. but it was quiet, 10,000 seater in Iowa and it was dark and i was front row. I could hear just his voice. A huge rock venue with just this deep smooth baritone that ive listened to on record for years. And it just really hit me. The next day i was at the Fargo, ND show and heard the soundcek. he sang driftin and small town. Again, noone in the building and you could actually just hear his voice....made the hairs stand up on my neck.

Well, if you're in Europe or outside of America, you haven't heard Eddie perform Arc in a dead-quiet theater for 2,000 people.

And the studio track itself is only a minute. Its his way of paying respect to those 9 fans. How can that be pretentious and self-indulgent?
