The song is dull and Ed's voice sounds bad.
Man I'm with you! Talk about boring and predictable, yikes! I don't think I've ever been so underwhelmed by a Pearl Jam single.
I keep hearing people rave about it's a fun sing-a-long, Pearl Jam pop, etc...Man, I'll take Why Go, I Am Mine, or even Mankind anyday over this one. Two Thumbs down for me. Got Some kicks this song's ass!

Fade Out.....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
If their gonna continue this trend of fading out the end of their singles, they really need to release non-radio edit / non-fadeout versions to their fans in some form.....

i'm not sold on this song just yet. from the crappy recording from the Target commercial, i thought the bridge would soar more than it does on the final version. that being said, i don't think eddie sounds bad on this at all. it's definitely some PJ lite in my opinion...WWS and I Am Mine were far superior as far as lead singles are concerned. (i don't hate it though).

I liked it quite a bit. I'd give it 4 stars.

I'm liking it. I am glad to see them release a kind of tossed off sounding, fun song as the first single. It is similar to Unemployable, but I think that is the best song on s/t, so that is not a problem with me at all. And i think that this song will age much more gracefully than WWS has...
Having said that, I really hope that the whole album does not sound like this. But judging by Speed of Sound and The End, it won't.

Eddie sounds fine. It is a good pop song, and a lot of people will like this.
The lyrics at times are bad, but it doesn't really matter. I think it's a Matt song. I can't see it being one of my favourite PJ songs, but solely because these aren't my favourite types of songs.
My main criticism is the 'ahh' vocals on the intro and after the bridge. They've been too manipulated with to the point where it sounds artificial and unnatural. But after a few listens I wasn't noticing that anymore.
