So...anyone here heard it? Those songs are easily some of Ed's strongest lyrics to date and sometimes I feel like they've had a bigger impact on me than Pearl Jam tunes.

(am I missing any)
The things I would do to hear this...
I've never heard any of these except Can't Keep. And yeah, you're obviously forgetting Soon Forget.

I'm so hoping this gets released at some point. Broken Hearted, Goodbye and Longing To Belong are 3 of my favourite Ed compositions, ever. The chords are all wonderfully put together, and these songs are just loaded with melody.
I suspect there are a few more that Ed hasn't played live. Even if not, it would make a great EP. I just hope they're recorded well, I think the Goodbye recording that appeared on the Broke Down Melody soundtrack was disappointing after hearing the live recording for so long.

I fucking hate the ukelele. Please don't let this be released.

This is the holy grail of wanted studio material for me. I realize we have most of these in good live recordings, but still would love to see what was laid down in studio. Obviously Cant Keep and Goodbye have seen light of day, but i'd love to hear the rest. I remember there was a Kelly Slater interview a long time ago and they asked his favorite albums of the year, and the uke sessions were #1 for him.

Randall runs rings round the rmers on the sea shore..
I'd like to hear this record. Big fan of can't keep and one of the others I heard..Plus i'm not a soon forget hater like most people seem to be. Could be a great little record or EP.

Or seven inch single-sided single.

I remember the incredible amount of one-line bullshit going on prior to these shows. - Ed doesn't deserve to be there - He's going to suck - He'll do covers - How awful it's going to be, people will walk out. Instead, he presents songs that rip your heart out.
I'd love any album from this guy. I don't care what instrument he uses. No instrument at all is fine, or a fucking cowbell. Seriously. A chorus of KAZOOs. I can't wait for the new PJ album

That song he did with Beck still haunts me..in a good way...just that part 'why did you go? why did you go? don't you know? don't you know? I need you'
the melodies and the way their voices lift together is amazing. It was a shitty recording I heard but it was still spine tingling.

Me too. What a magical show. Brilliant, both of them. These 2000 solo shows were an eye opener to a lot of people. I'm so glad he did it.

Well I was kinda sceptical, as in 'oh here's Ed on a fugazi/make the indie crowd think I'm cool' vibe again, but it really did turn a lotta their heads..
I had a wonderful chat with the guy from (is it dead moon? the band with the violoin player from australia?) anyways he told me he was always a hater of theirs but saw him play that night and was begrudgingly impressed, but then Ed came to their dressing room after their show and he couldn't hate him anymore 'cos he was so lovely to them and a big fan too..(I was thinking, NOBODY does a better star fucker than Ed, and really nobody in the industry does apparently) but it was still cool to hear a genuine indie guy give him respect. It's not dead moon..I can't remember the name of the band and theyve supported the frames a few times and Ed has name dropped them a few times too..feck..

It is possible that the young and bubblingly adorable 25 year old we saw on MTV at the beginning of this trip, has grown up into a really nice man. That's, you know,... ACTUALLY possible. He could be a genuinely good man. Someone you'd love if they weren't famous and they were your friend. A good person. I know some people whose very presence brings joy.
Now, I'm not sayin' but I'm just sayin', what does it say about us when we have to think star fucker, when every single account of him as a person is that he's a decent, soft spoken, enthusiastic about music to the point of irrationality, loving human being?
We don't know. He brings us musical joy. Why can't we give him the benefit of the doubt as a fellow human being is beyond me.

Thanks to this thread, I just listened to the uke version of Can't Keep again from Benaroya Hall. This has got to be one of the coolest things he's done with the uke. It was fucking awesome and I love how the crowd shows their appreciation afterwards.
