That's right, he's adapting Alice Sebold's novel. Just read it in Look magazine. It says...

Quote:
Jackson and Walsh will exec-produce Halo, based on the best-selling videogame, which Jackson says he played a lot while making Kong. His next directing gig will be The Lovely Bones, adapted from Alice Sebold's dead-girl-talking novel. "It seemed impossible to make into a movie," he says. "That's one of the reasons I want to do it."

Quite the unexpected move, I must say. Should be interesting.

Nah. I'd much rather see The Lovely Bones. Enough with all the hobbit bullshit, already.

Enough with taking ideas that have already been done or are books or games or whatever. Make your own shit, Jackson.

Genius.

Seriously. Have you even seen anything the man did before Lord of the Rings? Bad Taste = aliens making fast food out of humans. Braindead (Dead Alive) = monkey bites old lady, old lady spreads zombie plague and things end with her son re-entering her womb to kill her from inside. Meet the Feebles = puppets on herion. Puppets screwing each other. Puppets having 'Nam flashbacks. Heavenly Creatures = true crime story of two girls living a fantasy life until they are separated by their parents. The Frighteners = Michael J Fox as a private detective for ghosts. Jackson at least partially wrote all of them.

The guy could spend his entire remaining life doing nothing but remakes and still have had more original ideas than 99% of directors could dream of. Also, the director is in charge of translating a screenplay into film, not writing. There are many directors who don't play any part in writing thier movies.

Trailer's up at Apple, and it looks good. Talented cast and visually adventurous.

Looks good, but good god why hasn't Mark Wahlberg been blacklisted from ever acting again?

Because he was great in Boogie Nights and The Departed.

Good book. As a film though? I trust him as a Director. Interesting to see where this goes.

And everything else he's done...pretty much crap city my friend. He somehow found a way, through his acting, to make one of the all-time worst movies ever (The Happening) even more awful.

I remember him being the best part of I Heart Huckabees

All true

- Best thing in I Heart Huckabees
- Good in Boogie Nights and great in The Departed
- Absolutely god awfully terrible in The Happening.

Inconsistent I guess.

I don't care for him either, but he is very good in this film.
