Has anyone mailed 10 Club to ask about official bootlegs for this year, or shall I do it? I don't wanna bother askin' if someone already has and got a response. I'll probably tape Shepherds Bush, I just wanna know whether I'll need to tape the other 4 European shows. I'm sure other tapers out there wouldn't mind knowing whether to bring their kit to the shows, either.

I've asked them 3 months ago, when I got my 10C tickets for some of the next Euro shows.

At this time we are uncertain if bootlegs will be available for the European dates.

Maybe we can have hope with "uncertain", but I guess you have to ask them, and see if they made a decision. For the previous bootlegs series, there was aa announcement on the 10C website way before the beginning of the tour ? I can't remember...

Are the shows before or after the new record?
There are several shows before the release of Backspacer: Europe, Canada, Chicago. It makes me think that the 10C may try to put down links to recordings of these shows (if there are any) as the band will certainly play new songs, until the 21st of September.

PJ and their management have never pulled PJ audience recordings. I don't see them starting now.
that depends what you call pulled. They pulled any links from the Message Pit to them last year, and I got banned just for disagreeing with that (not having posted any link myself yet).

my guess is that they will still do them but might have a wait period to get them to fans until the day the record comes out.
I'd be happy with that but I fear they're going to do an 07 all over again and never release them.

this would be the logical thing to do, so I doubt this is what will happen.
I think the pre-Seattle shows will not have bootlegs, but the post-Seattle shows will. the Billboard article indicated bootlegs and it will be another way for them to promote the album.
also, I emailed Kufala a few weeks ago after the tour was announced and I got the "nothing can be confirmed at this time" but they also said watch pj.com for any news, so that made me think bootlegs will happen, but 2 days before Calgary and no word, so I stand by my prediction above, unfortunately.

whoever thunk metallica's would end up having a better live show website? Not me, this is a joke, just an asnwer would be great. I am surprised there is not 100,000 post about this over at the pit.

I didn't bring my taping gear to the US shows last year, so official bootlegs must have been announced before the shows. If they weren't, I would have taped them.
I did bring my gear and tape the 2007 Euro shows because bootlegs weren't announced.
I guess I'm taping again this year.
I don't think there's any point emailing Ten Club: they're gonna say: "If we're doing them, we'll announce them on the site". The Aussie pre-sale starting soon, so the email will probably get lost in the shuffle anyway.

as much as I hate the way 10C handles most communication, they do respond to emails quickly. I still think you'll get a "nothing can be confirmed at this time," but you will get a response.

I think you're right. Ten Club have responded to every single email I've ever sent them, and in a timely manner, too. I've been reading lately though that some people aren't getting responses-but maybe they're asking fucking moronic questions.

I remember in 2003 they fucked up on the website and the site didnt realize i was a 10c member. I noticed this as I was trying to buy tickets and called them up and they immediately, while on the phone with me, went into their computer and saw the error and fixed it. After he fixed it I told him I was going for Albany tickets and he told me they just had sold out but told me a ballpark time of when a new batch would be available. He was right and I got the tickets.

I emailed them asking if the Vinyl will be available outside 10c when they put it on sale and never got a reply... and it's not the first time I had emails completely ignored.

Talking of bootlegs.. I had a thought the other day: could the 11 unreleased boots mentioned in the Target article be the 07 ones?? (ok, it's 1 short, there were 12 shows.. but still..)

Backspacer? Yes.
