To each his own. I don't know that bitching about it makes it any better. Do you really need to watch the tickers on ESPN if it annoys you that badly? Just go online and find what you want.

I didn't want to start my own thread on how Buffalo sports rips the hearts out of the fans...but this is as good as any....

UB...ranked 31 in the RPI...22-8 at the time...up by 19 fucking points in the second half in the MAC championship and then, they remembered they were from buffalo :(

granted they didn't deserve a spot in the tourny on the face of it...but the MAC gets NO respect...it's complete bullshit that only Ohio made it...

Buffalo is better than a quarter of the teams that are in the tourny. But..what sucks is...they have no-one to blame but themselves :(

im right there with you on not being a Bball fan, but when it comes to march madness i become a fan again, i love the tourney, and i love hearing all about it on espn. but durring the regular season i also hate watching sportcenter and trying to watch the ticker, there are somany college games that they never seem to end

but get your self a bracket when they come out and enter a pool, it will make it fun for you and you wont hate espn this month

The MAC does get shit on. You'd think they'd get more recognition after teams like Miami-OH & Kent State have gone deep into the tourney in recent years.

I'm not sure how they do the computations...apparently via the computers...but the MAC was ranked the 9th best conference...and only one team gets in?

but i'll admit...im upset buffalo didn't make it...but it would be tough to even be excited if they got an at large bid after the way they blew it last night. GOD THAT SUCKED!

I would rather be forced to drink razor blades than have to watch one more NCAA basketball game, it is truly torture.

anyone who sits there and watches the waffle light should not bitch about mens college basketball, instead complain about your lack of a life ;)

march madness blows?!... youre crazy...

yeah, i just cant wait for that exciting game of *yawn* baseball to kick-in... with all those overpaid, juiced-up phonies

i just dont get people who dont appreciate march madness and all it stands for... i guess some people just didnt have the athleticism or talent to play basketball, so they decided playing right field in middle school baseball entitled them to be a big baseball fan... blah... whatever

shit man, don't be so harsh. playing right field didn't entitle me to be a huge baseball fan - being an american did.

i just don't like basketball and was lamenting the fact that it's the only game on t.v. right now. it wasn't a personal attack, like your post. i've got no problem with you watching a bunch of semi-literate troglodytes taking 4 steps before dunking.

and to the person who said i have no life for watching the ticker - nothing. you've fucking got me there.

i wasnt directing my comment at you... sorry... re-reading it i can see how it came off as if i was...

baseball in general bores me, and it also takes the least amount of athleticism to play as opposed to any of the other major sports... it's so slow and whatnot... dont get me wrong, when baseball season comes around i'll be chatting about it, but it's really only because it's the only thing going on in the summer... not an nba fan... and i think your comment on 4 steps before dunking applies to the nba, not the ncaa

IMO, baseball at it's highest level (pennant races/playoffs) is the best sport to watch.

March Madness is pretty much the coolest sports "event".....but NOTHING beats playoff baseball.

the drama from pitch to pitch is unmatched.

probably not nearly as many that check their rotisserie teams daily for the six months of the regular season.

like I said, as a pure sporting event, March Madness is awesome. The "one and done" formate makes for great drama.

But I wouldn't use the interest in pools as a barometer considering a huge number of those that fill out brackets can't name a single player on any team........ and don't even watch the games.

I would think that there are more football fantasy leagues than baseball. Not that it makes any sport better, i just thought i'd add that statement.

As a gambler, nothing beats march madness. Especially compared to baseball which is probably the least friendy sport to gamble on except maybe hockey. But even as a youth i loved watching the tournament, it was by far the best 3 weeks of sports in my eyes. I remember watching the 1983 final when NC State upset Houston. Good times.
