I was at the Nuggets game last night at the Pepsi Center. I looked up and all the Avalanche banners are gone. Someone pissed somebody off.

Nuggets have done quite well with tix sales since Melo was drafted. For example, last nights game was sold out. They have relatively cheap tix also. Last night was family night, 4 tix, 4 pizzas, 4 pepsi for $59. They also have men's night out with the same deal but you get a t-shirt and beer instead of pizzas and soft drinks. Basketball just does a better job marketing than hockey. Its as simple as that.

I don't think that hockey and basketball have a large crossover between fans, but I could be wrong.

glad to see they are back on track..I lived in Denver for 30 years and those years between about the early 90s-Carmello were quite sad..They couldnt give tx away...Sadly, that is where the Rockies are headed

I don't know if that will help at all. It seems nobody is quite sure why the banners were taken down. I'm of the opinion it had something to do with the NBA All Star game and they just haven't bothered putting them back up yet.
