Here's Got Some from Shepherd's Bush. Someone posted this on the pay for post forum. Matt's drums sound great. Eddie gets drowned out by the guitars, but I think that's just the perspective of the person filming:

i hope i'll hear a better version of Got Some sooner than later otherwise i'm gonna be mad at Ed for releasing new songs he's unable to nail live. even if many people seem to think that The Fixer live in Calgary was an improvement over the studio cut, i disagree - he doesn't reach the high notes like he should. AND i noticed this before i knew they were playing it half a tone lower. i hope he gets his shit together instead of saying "well i smoke like a chimney and drink like a gutter" in interviews otherwise he should play songs that will do justice to the golden pipes he still has in a lower register. end of rant.
i'm conscious of the fact that it's the beginning of a tour and Eddie's no diva and i keep my fingers crossed that he'll get around his breathing issues on Got Some which is a fucking great song.

The End is Ed solo again. Great. I think thats probably just gonna stay the way it is then. I don't know, It's very nice acoustic song, but I was hoping they flesh it out.
I haven't been anticipating this album for 3 years just to hear Ed. I want PEARL JAM. It's just another Into the Wild demo of his. It's a very nice song, don't get me wrong. And as it stands, it might be better off with nothing else just so they don't fuck it up. But I just really wanna hear full band songs, not Ed and his guitar. I think Just Breathe is gonna be the same thing.

This is the opposite of how I feel. I think Ed has emerged as the premiere songwriter in the group at this point. I almost wish he'd write everything and then let the rest of the band build off of his ideas.

I'm definitely more interested in what Ed brings to the table at the moment.

I'm interested in Ed's ballads and introspective writing on emotions and relationships or religious or perspectives on life. His punkish rock songs can go get fucked, im kinda sick of them.

Yeah, I'm really loving the stuff Ed's coming up with right now. Give me a million Speed of Sounds over another World Wide Suicide any day.
I'd be very satisfied if Ed kept going down this road and left the rockier stuff to the rest of the guys to come up with.

Hmmm. I'm happier for him to keep doing both. Worldwide Suicide and Severed Hand seemed to be everyone's favourite 'rock' songs from Avocado (based on the SOTM polls), and there's little doubt that Grievance, Insignificance and Sad were the best rockers from the Binaural sessions. I left RA out, because he didn't really contribute and heavy songs (I'm forgetting Green Disease because I don't really like it, ha).
That said, I think 4 out of his 5 Backspacer contributions are ballads, and I don't mind that at all. I think The End could be his career highlight.

Amen brother. Perfect senario would be if Stone finally took over writing the rockier stuff to bring back the groove, mike colouring the sections beautifully with great solos, jeff also adding some very strange yet beautiful stuff and with matt sitting out for the most part.
And Insignificance is hardly a punkish song IMO

Is someone preventing Mr.Stone Gossard a member of one of the most successful rock bands in the last 20 years to write rock music? Seriously is some kind of mafia involved? Or is Ed so BSC that poor 40 something kid Stone is so afraid to write?
