Yeah, it's pretty huge. It was the biggest canvas they had in that day. It's much more fun to work big though, you can be a little more expressive and fuck about a little more.
I worked from a google image and rougly sketched a grid over it so I could keep everything in check. I had to fiddle with the original image a bit make the width and length correspond to the canvas size I had, and that's why I painted a black trim at the top and bottom. From there I just sketched a rough pencil outline onto the canvas, and then began painting and built up the colours. Acrylics dry pretty fast so you can layer and paint over things almost straight away, which suits my style.
