A 12-year-old boy has been detained for life by a judge at Teesside Crown Court for raping his teacher at a special needs centre.
The schoolboy, who is one of Britain's youngest convicted rapists, attacked the woman as she sat next to him during a one-to-one teaching session.
Afterwards, he stole her car and drove it for 30 miles before dumping it.
The stocky youngster, who is just 5ft 3in tall and has severe learning difficulties, admitted at an earlier hearing raping the teacher at the centre in County Durham in November last year, and the theft of her car.
At Teesside Crown Court, Mr Justice Grigson ordered the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, be detained for life.
Sentencing the cropped-haired boy, the judge said: "These problems are not of your own making but it is plain that until these problems are dealt with you are very likely to commit other offences, other offences as serious as this, so the public has to be properly protected until such time as your problems have been assisted."
John Evans, defending, said his client had been the victim of sexual and physical abuse from a very young age.
"By January 1995, when he could have only have been three-and-a-half-years-old barely, concerns were being expressed about his sexualised behaviour," he said.
"Even at that age his GP expressed concern that he was under the influence of illicit substances.
"By 1995, when this boy could not yet have been four, he was being mistreated and indeed encouraged to engage in misuse of alcohol and cigarettes."
Nice to see not everyone lets criminals off with a free pass because they had a rough life. I don't know about a life sentence, but he definitely should be punished.
holy shit!! this is wrong!! of course he deserves a punishment but not that!! he is very young and has a lot to learn yet.
yea, i agree with you, he still has to learn how to shut up, and how to rape women on the street and pick out his prey instead of using people who are trying to help him

I don't think I even had jacking off worked out at 12.

Damn. 12 years old, that's some cold shit to lock him up for life. There are adults who are convicted of multiple rapes, or abusing children who get off for far less. That's just fucked up.

I know what you're saying Eli. It's easy for some to say lock him up and throw away the key, but when you think that this kid never really got much of a chance because of the abuse he endured as a very young child, there's really nothing satisfying about the sentence. As a parent, you realize just how innocent and impressionable children are, and to abuse them and fuck them all up like this is the worst crime of all, IMO. I'm not excusing his actions, because there are plenty of people who are abused and never do things like this, it's just a sad situation all around.

exactly how does society drive one to do this?
By not preventing this from happening to mentally incapacitated, young children:

but thats not societys fault, blaming society for everything is ridiculous. i listend to judas priest and iron maiden when i was 10-11-12, i turned out just fine (as in terms of not raping folks)

While I'm not prepared to blame society as a whole for this kid's state of being, I don't think it's accurate to compare listening to 80s metal to sexual and physical abuse at the age of 3, as well as the encouragement of substances like alcohol and cigarettes at the same time.
