Here is some info about them coming out in vinyl in 2009.

Nevermind, In Utero, and Unplugged by ORG and Bleach by SubPop.

Folks, we just had a full re-release by Universal for the "Back to Black" run in 2008. That article is so full of holes it's rediculous. The only thing I can think is that it was written from a purely American-release point of view, but even that doesn't make sense?!?

Forget about whatever you read there, as I posted in the Vinyl thread the definitive versions for Nirvana on vinyl are the Universal B2B releases. Specifically In Utero as it contains the only officially available version of the Albini mixes for Heart Shaped Box and All Apologies. Here's my original post in the other thread...

southp wrote:
...I ordered In Utero and Rubber Soul. I have no idea what pressing etc but I got both for $23.99 (CDN) each and free shipping

Here's the link for In Utero

When they arrive I'll be sure to let you all know exactly I just bought!!

I wanted to follow up on this. Unfortunately Chapters are showing In Utero as "unavailable" now but you won't believe this.... this reissue which is a Universal 'Back to Black' release, is actually the same as the EU (German) Pressing which everyone always raves about. What makes this so special you ask? It's the only way you can get In Utero with the original Albini mixes of Heart Shaped Box and All Apologies. They are much more raw, noisey and kill the regular version. Anyways, it looks like these B2B releases are going fast, so if you see those LPs (there is a Nevermind / In Utero / Unplugged), I suggest grabbing them at $20-$30. They are excellent re-issues and 180gram to boot.

Looks like we're getting Bleach on CD and vinyl. :bammer:

http://www.grungereport.net/2009/08/14/ ... as-bleach/

Nirvana’s 1989 debut Bleach is a whole lot more than Nevermind’s wily, unformed precursor. It’s a monster of an album in its own right, a gnarled blast of fuzzed-out frustration that still finds room for some seriously sneaky melodies. The canonized R.E.M. move “About a Girl” is a clear highlight, but so is the snakey Zep-esque stomper “Love Buzz”. Really, the whole thing absolutely destroys, and some days it’s my favorite Nirvana album.

Bleach turns 20 this year (feel old yet?), and Sub Pop is planning a deluxe reissue on CD and 180 gram white vinyl. (The first run of Bleach was also on white vinyl, appropriately enough.) The 20th anniversary edition is due November 3. Jack Endino, the album’s original producer, oversaw the remastering, which was done from the original tapes.

This edition will also include a complete recording of a never-before-released 1990 live show at Portland’s Pine Street Theatre, remixed by Endino from original tapes. And there’s a booklet: 48 pages on CD and 16 on LP, featuring previously unseen photos.

Check below for the tracklist.

Bleach: Deluxe Edition:

01 Blew
02 Floyd the Barber
03 About a Girl
04 School
05 Love Buzz
06 Paper Cuts
07 Negative Creep
08 Scoff
09 Swap Meet
10 Mr. Moustache
11 Sifting
12 Big Cheese
13 Downer

Live at Pine Street Theatre:

01 Intro
02 School
03 Floyd the Barber
04 Dive
05 Love Buzz
06 Spank Thru
07 Molly’s Lips
08 Sappy
09 Scoff
10 About a Girl
11 Been a Son
12 Blew

That live show is one of those that I wondered if Sub Pop might eventually release. It's got the recordings of "Spank Thru" and "About a Girl" that were used on the foreign "Sliver" singles. Dale Crover plays drums for that show, and he's just on. "About a Girl" is played almost like a punk song - awesome. And it's easily the best version of "Spank Thru" that's ever been released - fast and powerful instead of the slow drudgery that it usually was, even with Dave.

It's funny - when I saw the headline on the music news sites today, I thought, "I'm not buying Bleach a third time." But that live show is seriously tempting.

Nope, still Chad Channing at this show - it took place in February 1990, Chad didn't get fired til May. Dale toured with them in August, Dave Grohl joined in October.

Hmm. I haven't listened to Nirvana in years, but I was such a huge fan of them back in the day I'll probably feel some sort of need to get this for completions sake. :|

The live show does sound pretty cool though.

I can't wait for Nevermind. I think my copy is going to stop working very, very soon.

I haven't listened to Nevermind in 10 years or more. Does it still hold up? I'd like to hear a version without that bombastic production.

My personal experience, Nevermind makes me feel like I'm 18 again and just opened Pandora's box for the first time everytime I hear it. I'd say it holds up.

In Utero is still a better album.

God, I'd love it if they made Nevermind sound like In Utero. Nevermind's production is almost as bad as Ten's.

Try and track down some of Vig's rough nevermind mixes, they sound well alot rawer that the finished project. Like that version of Breed on the box set just kicks the album version's ass, IMO.

Good grief, you're right. I've probably had that wrong since I bought the Silver CD (in June of 1992). I think I just couldn't imagine Chad playing those songs that fast and awesome. (I'll admit that the overwhelming majority of bootlegs I've listened to over the years were Grohl-era. I had older ones, but I never really listened to them.)
