Do Australian Music Channels play music or just reality shows?

Max is a good music channel, lots of old stuff and only 'good' new stuff. BUT having seen a Pearl Jam: Max Masters segment before I wouldn't bother watching it or chasing it down. I really really want to be proven wrong but I think all it will be is recycled interviews that we've all seen from the Ten era and SVT as well as the videos we've all seen a thousand times. What might be on there is The Fixer clip and if it is im sure that it'll be put up on youtube quick smart. So non-aussies arent't missing much here. Anything new (slim possiblity there will be anything new) will be posted somewhere to get your hands on.

When I first saw the Max logo on the news homepage here I got crazy excited thinking that it was an announcement for a Max Sessions show for us Ten Clubbers in Aus.

It was also pretty cool that channel 9 played some of the immagine in cornice dvd on Saturday for an hour.

Only pay tv has music channels in Australia. Out of a population of about 21 million only a bit over 1.6 million people have pay tv.

We have 6 music channels:
Channel V plays about 80% music, only current and mostly mainstream pop.
Channel V2 plays 100% music, again only current and mostly mainstream.
Max plays 100% music, mostly older stuff (little 60's, mainly 70's, 80's, 90's) but the current stuff they play is usually pretty good. This is the best channel.
MTV plays like 5% music, it's shaite.
VH1 plays maybe 70% music.
Country Music Channel..... I have no idea.

That's my impression of it anyway.
