Bookie from 102.1 The Edge in Toronto inteviewed Eddie backstage at last week's show.

Thanks :)!
Yeah, from the very short lyrics we´ve heard on the 30 second clip from gonna see my friend it makes sense, that the lyrics of that song might be about drugs "I´m gonna see my friend, make it all go away" makes pretty sense to me, that the song is about drugs.

It's like they keep a playbook to use from album to album. "OK, we've got to have one song about drugs, another about waves, and one more about dropping bombs....."

One of my first musical connections when I heard Gonna See My Friend (the lyric) was "I'm waiting for the (my) Man" by Lou. Kind of nice to see that he has turned this concept on its head in going to a friend to stay away from drugs.

I thought it was funny that Bookie was psyched about the lyrics to The Fixer. I kinda agree in being blown away, not by the quality or difficulty of the lyrics, but by the sentiment they present. Just never thought I would hear it coming from Eddie.

What? Did Ed just say they never did an album not accessible on purpose?

Because he's too skinny now to relate with Ed.

Good point. Ed probably just wanted to talk about topics that fat people like to discuss, and Seth was asking him skinny people questions!

He couldn't have gained that much weight. I mean he's been wearing the same clothes for 20 years.

Ah.. 9 minutes? True enough. No problem.

I'm just interested in the comments about 'Gonna See my Friend', but I got the gist of those.

Ed just sounds drunk and says something along the lines of, "it's a drug song. but in the sense of a typical drug song. not that i've ever done anything like that. it's nice to have a spons......spon.....sp....ssssssssss.... *passes out?*....... someone to go to that helps you."

my big complaint about this is Eddie's stock '1000 evil men' answer. Eddie's political instincts are right, but I'd like to see him actually develop a coherent one minute blurb on this stuff instead of just rambling like this. He knows it's gonna come up.

He should try naming all 1,000 of them. That could take him considerably longer than 9 minutes though.....
