i dont live there.
you people are nuts. this song doesnt just NOT suck, its pretty badass. awesome guitar, awesome live, Stone sounds better than he did on Mankind at least, funny lyrics, its a blast.
better than a certain new lead single by a mile.
everyone should play this song right now and crank it!

Bmac, I don't think we agree much on things PJ-related, but I am 1000% with you on this one. It was a travesty that Mankind was picked for No Code over this one!
P.S. By the same token, I'm a huge fan of Hitchhiker, In The Moonlight, and probably several other Lost Dogs that are generally loathed around here.

Iowaska, not sure what similar tastes you and I have, but I agree 1000% with everything you just said. I like "Don't Gimmie No Lip", and also some of the other, less-popular Lost Dogs titles. In The Moonlight is GREAT!

I don't get how many people here "hate" certain Pearl Jam songs or think that others "suck." No offense to anybody intended.
I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan and I have my favourites, but being that it's art made by people I have a great deal of respect for, they'd really have to do something that offended my sensibilities on a level where I questioned their heart and soul, in order for me to "hate" it. And preference is all relative--I don't think I could say that anyone's honest artistic expression "sucks."

It's just my opinion. There's nothing I don't really like from Riot Act backwards all the way to Ten. It all rocks. I just don't like a lot of Pearl Jam from Self Titled onwards. Gone, for example, to me, is a very shitty song that is trying way to hard.

most of Lost Dogs i could take or leave, but i liked DGNL from the first time i heard the opening. its not gonna make any best-of lists but its a pretty cool b-side.

i like both DGMNL and Mankind - i don't think that the latter is well-placed on No Code but it's a good tune with a pretty nice instrumental break. of course, Supersonic is cut from the same cloth as these two. the video below is really fun.

well I think in a lot of cases you have to take declarations of hate within the context of the rest of the catalogue or just talking about music in general. there are lots of things I say I 'hate' but very few of them in the visceral way of genuine hatred

Yeah, I wish they didn't fade that out. Really my only complaint with Yield.

Really? I mean some small part of me can get how someone would like Don't Give Me No Lip, but Sweet Lew?
And for the record, i prefer Mankind. Although i would have left that one off too and included Dead Man.
