 Post subject: FLAC doesn't seem to be able to encode 24 bit 192 kbps

I thought I had seen some super high def FLAC files out there, but maybe I was wrong.

It can be done with WavPack (.wv files), and at a very good compression ratio too, but FLAC is more universal. Anyone know how to do it?

Must be khz, cause 192kbps is by no means lossless (although I almost cant tell the difference between wav and a good codec in 192kpbs)

192 is a lot of khz. Aren't CDs 44.1khz?

yes, DVD's are usually 48, HD audio is 96. looking into audio recorders for filming it looks like 192 is the next in line

what exactly are you looking to do? make 24bit flac? (that's the high def flac)

Got to admit, I can't tell much difference between 192 and 96.

Now 96 compared to 48? That's a huge sonic difference.
