Christ, Riot Act, in many interviews and articles, was called a return to "the old style of doing things."
I think the RA comment had to do with recording and production techniques. It was recorded live in the studio, and was the "anti-protools" record. Which is why it sounds so warm and vintage.

I think you should do it with everytime they mention something along the lines of "one of the best .... we've ever done" (be it lyrics, song, whatever). That and "return to form" would get you REAL drunk.

heh, exactly. Every album since and including Yield (with the possible exception of Binaural) has been hailed as a "return to form"...or "pearl jam is back"....or "pearl jam sounds invigorated"....or "eddie isnt pissed off anymore", etc. Riot Act was most definitely described as a"return to form."
Every review will bring up 90s pearl jam and compare the new album to that. "<Inset hard rocking song here> is their most aggressive song since vitalogy." "<insert ballad here> Eddie hasnt sounded this good in a decade." Or some lame headline like Pearl Jam Is "ALive" Again. Enough!!!!!
