I never thought I'd see the day where I would start a thread about women's basketball. (Yes, it helps that MSU is a #1 seed. No need to point this out, I'm quite aware of my homer standing at the moment.)

Anyways, I thought it was quite interesting that Stanford, the #1 team in the polls, got a 2 seed. Imagine the uproar if that happened in the men's tourney. Quite the open field of contenders for the women's championship.

Do UCONN and/or TN have number one seeds? You wanna talk about dynasties.

TN got a number one, so did NC. Tar Heels might be able to pull of the double like UConn did.

Of course, I am pulling for the Lady Lions. They make basketball season exciting around here. They can beat ranked teams but can also choke against subpar teams. They are a very streaky team. I'll be happy if they can make it to the Sweet 16.

I actually know more about the lady hoops than men's because of the Lady Lions' skills

Hey I didn't know if you were up there voluntarily or not ;)
I've never been to East Lansing and not had a good time. Their parties aren't as good as Western's, but they are way better than those you find in Ann Arbor or Ypsilanti.

Anyhow, anyone see how ridiculous the KC bracket is? MSU, UConn, KState and Stanford? Holy shit.

a bit off topic but anyone ever see Juwana Mann?? That was on Comedy Central last night. Funny movie about the WBNA.

Well, it was originally voluntarily, now I can't wait to get the hell out of the state entirely. Speaking of Western, nearly as many of their students got arrested at the riots on MSU's campus back in the day. Hell, there was a picture in the State News of a giant fire with a kid in a WMU shirt raising his hands.

That bracket is unbelievable. The whole tourney is just a crapshoot. I saw an interview with the head of the selection comittee and she said they basically were choosing #1 seeds from 6-7 teams.

and my former school, Illinois State, got in on a last second shot and I believe they have to play Baylor in the first round.

ISU actually made is a 15 seed. Only the 3rd or 4th team in women's history to make the tourney with a losing record

Then they shall be crushed beneath the might of coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson's fierce hair-do

I don't know why, but I've never been able to stand Pat Summit. Obviously a great coach, but I just don't like her.
