Join us in celebrating 25 years of beach and coastal protection! On October 9th, the Surfrider Foundation will be hosting a 25th Anniversary Gala at the California Science Center. We will be honoring Pearl Jam, Incubus and actor David Chokachi with our Keeper Of The Coast award, as well as hosting the third installment of our Art For The Oceans auction. Hosted by Blink-182's Mark Hoppus and featuring a musical performance by Camp Freddy.

I had wondered if PJ actually appeared at the Surfrider 25th Anniversary Gala. They did not. Here's a link to a follow-up article about the event.

Here's an excerpt of the relevant info:

Pearl Jam were the final honorees of the evening. The band, who were unable to attend due to their tour schedule, has played an instrumental role in the growth and success of the Surfrider Foundation; from a $50,000 donation back in 1995, which helped keep the Foundation afloat during those lean early years, to their involvement with the successful Music for Our Mother Ocean (MOM) benefit albums, to their recent support in helping the Foundation conduct the “Save Trestles” campaign.

i was falling asleep the other night watching deadliest catch when the commerical w/ rise came on and totally woke me up. i thought i was dreaming at first :haha:
