Does this mean, he is having bad day and just wants the day to end, or is he saying he wants to make the most of his life before he retires?
I'm not sure he's saying day. GSMF seems to be about wanting to take control of your life before it's too late (although I say that without seeing formal lyrics)

Yeah I wasn't too certain it was day when I was trying to write out the lyrics. It was just the closest I can come up with, although it does make sense in the context of trying to take control of your life.

The structure of this song is nucking futs. There's like 2 different verse chord structures in two different keys. One of these you could argue is a chorus, but then there's actually another chorus, so you're never quite fucking sure.. AND there's a sick bridge, AND a sick riff in the intro and outro. Seems to change every few seconds.
It's like they squeezed as many section changes as they could into a short song. Amazing.

I stopped hearing after I heard the full song. Though I did get that sense off the initial clips. That said, I don't think it is earthly possible for Pearl Jam to sound like STP. It's a backwards statement that ends in an infinite loop.

For some reason it reminds me of STP too. I don't even like STP. And I'm not sure which song of theirs it reminds me of. But I couldn't help but think this.

i heard the stp thing in that first clip, but the full version dispelled that for me as well

I was thinking that myself. This song is too good to sound like STP.

I love this song so much. It's in my top 4 with johnny guitar, unthought known, and force of nature.
