My daughter walks. uses 2-4 word phrases. She sleeps in a toddler bed. She eats plenty of solid foots. Construction has just been completed on her 2nd bedroom. She has attended professional athletic events and has a brother on the way in less than 3 months.

In her lifetime, the Detroit Lions have not won a regular season game.

I wrote something about this in the NFL thread awhile back, but I don't think a big enough deal is made about this. The Lions' 2008 season is, in my estimation, the worst season-long performance from an American professional sports team in modern history. We should be having failure parades and Detroit should have to rename one of its parks "0-16 Shame" or something.

Congrats Ed. I too have a young daughter that has yet to enjoy a Lions win.

Sadly, my son Will, although a Lions fan like his father, has also never enjoyed a Lions regular-season victory (although he's 6-2 in preseason games). I wonder whether my next kid (due in February) will turn the tide.

As a Jets/Mets fan it seems almost like child abuse for me to encourage my kids to root for my teams. Why pass along the suffering?

BTW Why does your daughter need two bedrooms?

One to keep her Lions paraphernalia, and the other to cry in.

What I find even more remarkable about the Lions is that when the Giants played the Lions in Week 10 of the 2007 season, both teams were 6-2 and this was a marquee game pitting two possible playoff teams in a midseason test. The Lions have won 1 game since then, or is it zero?

I think there are a few teams the Lions will be better than in 2009. I'm just having a hard time thinking of them.

At least you guys have Calvin Johnson, probably the most ridiculous athlete in the NFL in terms of sheer physical talent.

Rams, probably. Anyone else? Raiders look improved, but will probably be awful still.

The Rams totally looked terrible against my SeaSquawks this week.

A team that can't count players on ST is going to have a long season.

I feel for the RM Joo Koufax.

She was sleeping.
The Lions were playing well.
I heard her making noise just after the PAT.

Sorry fellow Lions fans.
