Has anyone managed to get their hands on the supposed "Rock Band" version of Backspacer? I can't find details on it anywhere. What's the cost? What all does it contain?
Most importantly, why did the toolbox at my local Target tell me that "We aren't gonna carry that version"...and looked at me like I had five fucking heads when I asked this morning? I mean, if y'all aren't carrying it, who the hell is?
I know you can buy Backspacer on the Xbox Live Marketplace for like 1400 MS Points. The "Rock Band" version of Backspacer is only being sold in select Target stores for whatever reason, so that's why your local Target didn't have it. I only know this thanks to some other forums, so I can't be 100% sure about all of this.
What I found on Target's web site says the "Rock Band" version is $30, which would include the CD and a code to download the album for Rock Band 1 or 2. To buy only the Rock Band content you would have to do so through Xbox Live or whatever Marketplace your console uses, and the cost comes to around $18.
The special edition "Rock Band" version seems to be no cheaper or offer any sort of deal than if you had purchased the album and downloadble content separately...both would come to about $30.
Also somewhat related to the downloadable content for Rock Band...I noticed that the Rock Band versions of "Johnny Guitar" & "The Fixer" don't fade out at the end. Am I crazy or is this really the case?
Song on RB never fade out... to give you the complete live experience Sometimes it's done pretty nicely, other times it's shitty. Ugh..ps3 owners have to wait 'till next thursday for the update. X360 and Wii (weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee) owners can dl it already.
So I guess I'll be chewing on my controller until thursday
I guess the Target people thought that us simple ol redneck people down in South Cackalacky wouldn't want no fancy newfangled rock band edishun! We loves our Kenny Chesney!
Fuckers. Then again, if they had a clue they'd probably move here, which would be worse.
fuck me. i played through and was so not paying attention (3 yr old running around screaming peaaaarl jaaaaaam) that i didn't notice the non-fade out, so I can't comment. AND i have no way of checking until late.
are the endings good? i know it sounded fantastic and since i've not played this since friday night (anticipating this... didn't wanna wear it out) i was just blown away.
you know what sounded ... really... surprising was Speed Of Sound. but again, too distracted. the vocal was different???? i went huh???
"Don't do that to the kitty. Stop running with that or you'll put your eye out!!!"
Not sure if this is kosher or not, but unless the files are encrypted, it's possible to get the multitracks of most/all songs on Rock Band, meaning we could hear isolated Vedder vocals or guitar parts or whatever.

This will be perfect for the Backspacer (The Dance Remixes) album I'm planning on making.

You'd be surprised, there's an entire community that thrives around picking these songs apart. Personally, I think it's fascinating to listen to the songs deconstructed.

Rather than make a new topic about how lame PJ Chat has been lately, I'll copy and paste this statement into every thread that qualifies as being lame. This PJ Chat is turning into synergy...
