Things these people need to get over or GTFO. Feel free to add your own.
It's not 199X. Get over it.
Ed's voice is fine, in fact he sounds a lot better than he has in years. And he' enjoying it and putting a lot more heart into it live than he has in years.
It's 2009, the internet has changed how bands do business. Pearl jam were on SONY for over a decade and a half. The Target deal worked for everyone involved. Millions of people now use their phones as their MP3 player so it made sense to strike a deal with Verizon. They haven't sold out. They've bought into getting their music out there. Nothing wrong with that. Get over it.
Pearl jam would be written off and encounter nothing but abuse both from critics and fanbase alike if they kept making records that sound like (fill in your favourite here___________). Backspacer seems to have proven they're still relevant and capable of making vibrant exciting music thats sells and makes the fanbase happy, which is the point after all. Don't like it? you might like the next one, hang out.
Pearl jam have next to no idea or control over how their fanclub is run. You can count on it. It's a business and business are started to make money. Don't like it? don't join or take part. They have families and want to keep touring realistically while still having a relatively normal life. That's not unreasonable. Bands that write/record on the road make shit records.
In summary, they aren't the band you fell in love with in college/high school, you aren't that guy anymore either(with any luck ) Get with the times and go see them and support them or get off.
In Closing?
Deal with it.

You forgot about the trademark Ed vocals. Ed's vocals sound so 'phoned in' lately.. like he's phoned me, and said 'Do you like my vocals?' and I've said 'Fuck yes' and he's said 'Well, OK. I'm coming round your house for dinner.'

Yeeah - liked I loved back in '95 when Ed was all over Thurston Moore's and Mark Arm's jock all the time. That's my Ed, why does he does he try to be cool and have to have like all this showmanship and charisma all the time? Why can't he fart through a vocoder and use atonal trumpets instead of that stupid mike-stand lean he does now?
