For some reason my itunes is only updating my Top 25 from the songs that I only play on my computer- shouldn't it be counting also the songs that I play on my ipod after I plug it into my computer too?

Anyone else ever have this problem?
I don't think it works like that unless you have your iPod and iTunes synced.

You can set it so only certain playlists go on your ipod. Make a playlist specifically for your ipod with 8 gigs worth of music you want on it and set it to only take that playlist.

Sorry, just to be clear then, all I need to do is clear everything off my ipod, and then take the same albums that was on there and put them all in as a playlist and then just have that on my ipod? And it should work? I don't need to check any boxes or anything else?

Well when you click manage your ipod within itunes there should be a tab for the music on your ipod, in there you can choose between syncing your entire library or just specific playlists.

Next to every song in your iTunes there should be a check box. Every song that has a tick against it will try to load across to your iPod when you next sync.
The quick and/or cleanest fix is to select all the songs in your iTunes, uncheck all of them and then recheck the songs/albums/playlists that you want on there.

I tried this and it didn't work. I unchecked everything and just checked a few different albums to see if it would work and this is what happened:
Under Sync Music: I checked "Entire Music Library" and it took songs from the entire library and put random songs on there that were not checked. So then I tried the 2nd option: Selected playlist, artists, and generes and it would only allow already made playlists or entire artists to be added. What am I doing wrong. Thanks again!

What I do is start a new playlist (I call it "songs of the NOW") and just dump the albums I want into that playlist. Then click Sync selected playlist and check the playlist I made. It all gets synced correctly.
It's counter intuitive because you think "hey man, I don't want a playlist there, I want my albums". But fact is you don't lose anything by doing a sync via playlist. Your albums are still organized and filed correctly. You still get Cover Flow and everything.
