What concerts could you, would you, and should you have gone to, but didn't for no apparent reason and have been kicking yourself ever since?

Here are my Top 5 and why: (Note: I am from Maine.)

1.) Pearl Jam - Augusta, Maine 1996; during their tiff with Ticketmaster PJ was playing unconventional venues like the Augusta Civic Center. Dennis Rodman came out on stage and put Eddie on his shoulders supposedly. Reason I didn't go: Broke college freshman with no car.

2.) Radiohead - Mansfield, Mass. 2008; It's freakin' Radiohead. Reason I didn't go: A friend offered me VIP pit tix that I had to buy that day, but tragically I did not have the cash and I couldn't charge it!

3.) Slayer - Augusta, Maine 2004; my little brother asked me to go and I didn't. Slayer ended up playing their best and my favorite Slayer album "Reign in Blood" in it's entirety, and oh yeah, also filmed the concert DVD of the event. Reason: A woman.

4.) Dinosaur Jr - Portland, Maine 2006; Dino Jr (my second favorite band) plays two reunion shows back-to-back at the tiny Big Easy club where three years later my own band would play. Reason: Complete flakeage

5.) Tool - Lewiston, Maine 1998; often cited as one of Tool's best live performances. Plus, the Melvins opened! Reason: Don't remember

I promised myself I wouldn't cry...

Taking a bag of whiskey offered me at the Pj London O2 show, drinking it all and doing an interview with a guy filming us for universal music while scuttered drunk, then going into the gig and leaving when they played what turned out to be supersonic 'cos I was cranky drunk & 'fuck the ramones covers' and going home and missing a great gig.

Drinking at Pj shows is a no no her on in.

They played like 3 hours away. I was 14. I could not drive yet and i could not convince my mom to let me go with older kids to the concert.

pearl jam, soundgarden, rhcp, ministry, rage, porno for pyros, stp

PJ & Soundgarden were two of my favs back then and i really wish i could have seen them.

2000 was the year for me. I was just 16 and finally old enough to go and see concerts. Pearl Jam, Radiohead & RATM were my favourite bands.

- Pearl Jam at Werchter festival : would have been the second to last of the marvellous Euro tour. PJ was the only reason I went to that festival, my first time, I was just 16. PJ cancelled because of Roskilde.

- Rage against the Machine in Brussels : my mom didn't let me because I was too young and they were kinda afraid that band got me into some negative mindsets, the communist thing, you know. I thought I'd get the next chance to see them. A few months later they split up. I saw them last year, but it's' not really the same as it would have been seeing them then.

- Radiohead / Sigur Ros in Brussels : my mom didn't let me go because the only people that went that I knew were older guys that my mom didn't really trust, and rightfully so to be honest.

Pearl Jam, October 4th, 2009 ACL festival

We had three day passes and I let my buddies talk me in to selling them and going camping instead. Friends are supposed to come before music, but I hear that I missed a pretty good show and Pearl Jam will probably break up before they come to Texas again.

2000 - Nine Inch Nails and the virtually unknown (at that time) A Perfect Circle in Montreal. I missed out on the Fragility 2.0 tour and a brand new APC cutting it's teeth. Reason: couldn't afford to go. I was teased for years after that.

2005 - Behemoth comes rolling through my town and plays in a dive bar a few months before I discover how awesome they are. They would become one of my favorite death metal bands. Reason: poor timing i guess.

Not much else comes to mind. Since about 2003 i've gone to pretty much every concert i've ever really wanted to within a reasonable distance, so there isn't much regret.

Aside from a few bonehead misses (Radiohead) I have tried to go to every decent show within a two hour radius since 2007. My philosophy is, if you get an opporunity to see a band for the first time you should go no matter what. You never know when that band is going to break up or the drummer is going to die.

Not exactly like you guys, but I regret that the only PJ shows I went to were in 2006, for an album I hate and very little time before I stopped caring about this band. What a waste of money.

I regret the fact that Battles don't tour Toronto more often.

Fortunately, I remain blissfully ignorant of most of the concerts that I wish I'd seen, but I do have one I know all about...

I had a ticket saved for me for the MSG 9/11/98 "Breath" show, but I'd just seen them a couple days earlier at the Meadowlands and decided to go to the Yankee game with a girl. But I did get to touch some titties that night.

There's a little record shop here lets you put deposits down on concert tickets, in essence prebooking them for you. I put €20 on a ticket for Arcade Fire in the Olympia here(beautiful small 2000 theatre) and lost the fucking little receipt from the shop ergo no ticket. And it was voted concert of the year here in the music rags...painful.
